Michelle Leigh DeAsis, formerly of Juneau, and Mark Bryan Bernard, formerly of Soda Springs, Calif., were married May 3, 2008, near the Redwoods in Crescent City, Calif. The couple's marriage vows was officiated by the groom's grandfather, Dale Verner, in a garden ceremony attended by a few close friends and family, with a festive reception following.

The bride is the daughter of Juliane DeAsis, of Juneau, and Timothy DeAsis, formerly of Juneau, now of Gallup, N.M. The groom is the son of Janet and Mark Bernard, of Los Banos, Calif.

The bride was walked down the aisle by her parents. Brittney Martin was matron of honor, and Christine VanderWerf-DeAsis was bridesmaid.

The groom's lifelong friend, Andrew Maloney, was bes tman, and his brother, Christopher, was groomsman. Holdin Mark Bernard, assisted by Justin DeAsis, was the ring bearer.

Family and friends of both bride and groom from Ireland, Alaska, Washington, California and New Mexico, were in attendance.

After taking a few days to leisurely drive up the coasts of northern California and Oregon, the couple returned to Roslyn, Wash., where they made their home. Roslyn is the location where much of the popular television show Northern Exposure was filmed.
