The Juneau Soccer Club Jambaars boys soccer team defeated the Idaho Osprey 6-2 on Saturday in preparation for the United Soccer Youth Association Region IV Under-13 Tournament in Boise, Idaho.

Andy Lawson scored twice while Peter Jorgensen, Rhett Bennett and Ben Gelotte all scored in the game's first 12 minutes to put Idaho away early.

The Osprey scored late in the first half to make the score 5-1 at halftime.

Bennett scored his second goal of the game off a Max Smith assist in the second half to complete the Jambaars' scoring.

Lawson added an assist in the win.

Juneau defenders Nathan Fosket, Devin Bertholl, Sage Thibodeau and goalkeeper Rafael Betit limited the Osprey to just two goals.

The Jambaars, the Alaska state champs, open tournament play on Monday against Sky City, the Montana state champs.
