The Crimson Bears (9-0-2) defeated host Colony 4-0 for their sixth shutout in seven games. In another gusty game, JDHS scored three goals in the first half against the wind.

"We seem to play better going against the wind," JDHS co-coach Sandi Wagner said. "We control it a lot more. In the first half we played well. Second half, not quite as good."

Sekona put JDHS ahead in the fifth minute. Brittany Lehnhart started the play with a cross toward the goal. Sarah Christianson headed it down to Sekona, who put it in the net.

Sekona scored again seven minutes later off a similar play. Rachel Tarver delivered a free kick, and Christianson headed it to Sekona for the goal.

"Sarah Christianson just hits header after header and just places them where they should be," Wagner said. "It wasn't our best game ever, but they did some good things. They linked passes together and played as a team."

In the 28th minute, Jessy Post headed in Jordan Cottingham's corner kick to put JDHS ahead 3-0 at the half.

Christianson found the net in the 47th minute by scoring off a header. Christianson knocked in an assist from Kristin Jorgensen to end the game's scoring.

JDHS outshot the Knights 19-2 in the win, and Kayla Walton made one save for her 10th clean sheet this season.

For the year, JDHS has outscored its opponents 49-3.

In the junior varsity contest, the Crimson Bears defeated host Colony 6-0.

Lindsey Collins scored a hat trick, and Amanda Soto added a goal and two assists in the win.

Carly Lehnhart and Lauren Thompson scored goals and Lanie Lumbab had an assist for JDHS.

The Crimson Bears complete their northern trip today with a game against Wasilla.
