Accomplishments: Diouf won the Alaska Youth Soccer Coach of the Year and the Region IV Coach of the Year. He also started the Men's Classic League for players 30-and-over and is a FIFA-certified referee.
Challenges: An anterior-cruciate ligament injury in 2000, which kept him off the soccer pitch, he said.
Close calls: "I have seen snakes up close on our family farm in Senegal," Diouf said. "It can be pretty scary."
