Thanks for support of the daffodil sales
On March 11, bright yellow daffodils were delivered to many individuals and businesses throughout the communities of Juneau, Douglas, Skagway, Gustavus, Tenakee and Kake. I as chairperson for Daffodils and the many volunteers would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the individuals and businesses that purchased daffodils and supported the program. This year we brought in $28,403. I have heard from many that after all of the snow we had the Daffodils were such a delight to see and it lifted up the spirits of many.
I would like to thank the following for their help in the many areas of the program Cindy Evans, Frankie Miller, Barbara Gabier, Jan Somerville, Helen Fleming, Welles Gabier, Roscoe Palmer, Chris Donek, Janet Henderson, Beth Belflower, Nela Pierce, Connie and Larry Dupute, Dorothy Burnett, Carol Whelan, Bea Long, Geoffrey Wyatt, Bill Williams, Mark Mila, Kathy and Ron Bresette, Kathy and Fred Schmitz, Tina Maryott-Gordon, Tina Seaton, Kathy Clemens and Sarah Robinson, District Executive Director American Cancer Society from Anchorage. A special thank you to the communities of Tenakee Springs, Cynthia Meyer; Skagway, Judy Mallory; Gustavus, Jo Archambault; and Kake, Loretta Gregory.
Special thanks to Curves and Ron Flint and his employees at Alaskan Nugget Outfitters for sales and distribution of the daffodils, Bartlett Regional Hospital Cafeteria for allowing us to sale in the cafeteria and Goldbelt Building for the use of the lobby for staging. To Alaska Marine Lines who donated transportation of the flowers to Juneau, Wings of Alaska and Alaska Seaplane for donating transportation to Gustavus, Skagway, Kake and Tenakee Springs. A big special thank you to KINY for allowing me to come on the radio to promote the sales and for all of the public service announcements that KINY did for us.
If I have forgotten anyone I apologize. If you wish to become a volunteer for the 2010 Daffodils you may contact me at 364-3617 and your name will be placed on the volunteer list.
