JDHS graduate Potdevin adds ninth All-NESCAC honor
WATERVILLE, Maine - Kelsey Potdevin finished with nine New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference honors in her four years at Colby College after adding the final three on Tuesday.
Individuals finishing in the top three in events and relays at the league meet are named all-conference recipients.
The Mules placed a strong fifth this past weekend at the NESCAC Championships at Bowdoin College. Colby had its best finish at the league meet since the Mules took fourth place in the 2004-05 season.
Potdevin set a meet and pool record in winning the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 26.56. She beat the old record of Amherst's Brittany Sasser, who has been one of the top NCAA Division III swimmers in the country the past few years. Potdevin earned All-NESCAC honors in the 50 backstroke during all four years at Colby.
Potdevin also earned league honors by taking second place in the 100 backstroke (57.39) and third in the 400 medley relay. She joined forces with Carlson, Ferguson, and Heneghan for a time of 3:56.93.
