JRC hosts doubles tennis tourney

Kincheloe, Crowder escape with title from Mixed Open Division

A pair of undefeated doubles teams battled out the closest score of the weekend in Sunday's JRC/Alaska Club Cabin Fever Doubles Tennis Tournament Mixed Open Division championship.

Annie Kincheloe and George Crowder eventually escaped from a team of Bev Smith and Denny Salveson 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 for the round-robin bracket's title.

Beatrice Franklin and Richard Stokes topped the duo of Alyson Campbell and Brett Kovach 6-3, 6-2 for the Mixed A Division championship.

The Men's A Division finals went to Dan Malalang and Ken Hill, who topped a team of Eric Hodgson and Fred Tolbert 6-2, 6-4 for the championship.

The team of Mike Peeler and JDHS player Nathan Graves lost just one set in the entire Men's Open Division, which was also played in a round-robin format. The pair finished 3-0.
