Rose scored 28 points to help Chicago gain just its third road victory of the season, 107-101 over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.

"I talked to him at halftime and have a lot of respect for him," Rose said the probable No. 1 pick in the next NBA draft.

James sat with some of his high school teammates in the first row along the baseline near the Cleveland bench, watching two of the teams most likely to end up in the draft lottery.

The Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary star gave Cavs star Ricky Davis a high-five during a first-half break and visited with the Bulls at halftime.

Rose said he hopes to get the chance to help James break into the league.

"There are a lot of things I'm planning on talking to him about," Rose said. "What people don't realize is that some of the problems he's had are small compared to what he's going to encounter when he gets to the big leagues. I'll stay in touch."

Rookie Carlos Boozer Jr., an alumnus of Juneau-Douglas High School, had 23 points and 12 rebounds and helped spark the Cavaliers from a 17-point deficit as they pulled to 94-92 with 4:45 to play. Rose then hit a fallaway jumper with 4:27 left and Chicago went on to its second win in a row, breaking an eight-game road losing streak.

"A lot of times we've found ways to be in games on the road and then lose them," Rose said. "First and foremost, it feels good just to go out and play well."

Davis scored 22 points for Cleveland, which has lost four straight and eight of nine. The Cavs must win six of their final 28 games to avoid matching the team record for fewest victories in a season, 15.

Jay Williams and Tyson Chandler each scored 20 points for Chicago, which had all five starters score in double figures for the first time this season.

"We are fed up with losing on the road," Chandler said. "We came out more aggressive from the gate."

Rose scored nine of Chicago's final 11 points in the third quarter to give the Bulls an 86-76 lead.

Williams scored 13 points to help the Bulls lead at halftime 57-49.

"People keep getting out on us and we have to fight to get back in," said Cavs forward Jumaine Jones, who scored 12 points. "The big thing tonight is we put forth a much better effort and came back to nearly win."

Cleveland trailed 45-29 before rookie Dajuan Wagner scored seven points in a 13-2 run. The 6-foot-2 guard capped the spurt with a spin move and resounding slam on a fast break.

Wagner finished with 18 points, but shot just 5-for-17 from the field.

Boozer, who shot 11-for-15, has totaled 49 points in two home games against the Bulls versus one point in two road losses at Chicago.
