Environmentalists invest in conservation

In response to Pete Webber's letter to the editor titled, "Do environmentalists keep their PFDs?" on Dec. 27, yes, he is right. We do not return the oil money back to the state. We reinvest it in groups such as Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, Earthjustice, National Wildlife Federation and Southeast Alaska Conservation Council.

If you do not care for us "environmentalists" spending our PFDs on protecting the health of our planet and its creatures, I suggest that you do not drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It is your short-sighted mission that finances our safeguarding this world.
