NEIGHBORS Juneau Empire United Way of Southeast Alaska's second Day of Caring, held Oct. 4 at various location in Juneau, matched approximately 84 volunteers from 11 local businesses with projects at 13 area nonprofit organizations. Each team volunteered its time and skills in order to complete much-needed service projects for the nonprofits, including painting dormitories, building an accessibility ramp, shampooing carpets, holding a food drive at local grocery stores and repainting the Mendenhall Valley skate park.
