Bit of Alaska: The Baranof, a U.S. Coast Guard Island Class cutter, is shown on patrol in the Mideast. The vessel, named after the Alaska landmark, is home-ported in Miami and is used to counter drug operations, alien migrant interdiction, search and rescue and fisheries enforcement in places like the federal reserve in the Dry Tortugas, west of Key West.
