SPORTS JUNEAU EMPIRE Taxi driver Maria Miller expected to share Douglas Island's roads with "maybe 40" runners as she approached Savikko Park in her canary yellow van during Saturday's 17th annual Frank Maier Marathon. She didn't expect the stream of 170 contestants, a race record, that lit up the roadside with colorful shoes, shorts and identification bibs.
