SPOTLIGHT JUNEAU EMPIRE In the Last Frontier you can still drink at a bar until 5 a.m. in places like Homer or Haines in accordance with state law, but not in the capital city. "The state has a statute that says when bars have to be closed," said Joe Hamilton, an Alaska State Trooper assigned to the Alcohol Beverage Control board. "Municipalities can tighten those controls."

'You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here'
