GOLDMEDAL08 Juneau Empire There have been many great games I have photographed while covering the Lions Club Gold Medal Basketball Tournament during my 25 years working for the Juneau Empire. There are so many buzzer-beaters, overtime thrillers and heroic efforts to recall.

Gold Medal game for the ages

 Contested shot: Haines' Stuart DeWitt attempts a last-second 3-point shot with two Kake players defending. The shot was no good and Kake hung on to win 95-93 in the 2004 Gold Medal Mighty B Bracket semifinal game.
