The Permanent Fund defined
The Alaska Permanent Fund, the Permanent Fund Dividend program and the Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. are three different entities. Sound confusing? Not really. The Permanent Fund is the chunk of money set aside for future generations. The Permanent Fund dividend, or PFD, program distributes the interest earned by the investments of the fund, one check to every eligible Alaskan resident. The Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. is Alaska's public corporation whose job it is to manage the fund for the people.
