Remember when? (Sally Freund)

Memento - An official senior dude button.

"Everything keeps changing in my life except for the folk festival. 1976 was the first year that I went. I was hitchhiking around and happened to hitchhike through. It was my first pilgrimage in Alaska as a young hippie, and then I was in Halibut Cove, outside of Homer. I just wanted to come and hear and play. And then I met all these people that I had a lot in common with playing old-time music. ... (The festival) doesn't change like the rest of the world is changing. It just stays really consistent. You can guarantee you're going to have an incredible time. It won't let you down."

- Sally Freund, Palmer, Alaska, and Hector, N.Y., musician and syrup maker, regular attendee since the early 1980s
