Remember When? (Jeff Brown)

Jeff Brown

"I remember broadcasting the second folk festival from the Alaska State Museum. It seems like we couldn't afford a long enough mic cord, so the sound mixer was right next to the stage, or maybe behind a wall. ... Over the years, the broadcast process became a little more complicated, where the radio hosts would take over with commentary when the emcees didn't have anything to say. There's a story about one of our volunteers, Cy Peck Jr., trying to explain what Belle Blue was doing with a leather outfit and machetes, singing 'Mack the Knife,' and I think for a lot of people that was a famous moment."

- Jeff Brown, co-program coordinator of KTOO radio
