Mindy's blog is, in fact, mostly about things that she bought and loves. (It is not about "The Office.") It is mostly about things that you and I buy (or could buy) and love, like Target underwear, licorice from Trader Joe's and button-up shirts from J. Crew. Except that every once in a while there's a post about, oh, I don't know, going to the Emmys. So, not so much like you and I.
The blog is fabulously written. Case in point: Mindy on her love of Ethiopian food:
"I don't know what it is, but non-Ethiopians who love Ethiopian food always seem super insufferable. It's like the place the pretentious pseudo-villain in the Whit Stillman movie invites the girl out for a dinner. I'd much rather have you guys think I'm into straightforward turkey sandwiches and chips. But it ain't true, y'all."
And you definitely get the sense that Mindy could be just another of your gal pals - diggin' bad top 40s music, eating off her boyfriend's plate and falling asleep while watching TV.
Ultimately, Things I've Bought that I Love is a great read and worth checking out, regardless if you're an "Office" fan.
Things I've Bought that I Love (http://mindyephron.blogspot.com) is "a place to discuss things we've bought that are frivolous and fun," written by one Mindy Ephron. Except that Mindy Ephron is really Mindy Kaling, as in Mindy Kaling of "The Office" fame - writer, producer and of course, Kelly Kapoor.
