Tomorrow night at 9 - that's Friday, Sept. 7 for all you late readers - we'll be partying it up at Marlintini's Lounge in the Mendenhall Valley. It costs just $5. All proceeds go toward the state parks system.

We're going to have a little booze, a Pel' Meni eating contest, awesome guys on the turntables with several Southeast Alaska artists performing (accompanied by dancing, I'm sure) and a little more booze.

Have I mentioned there's going to be music with "the sauce." It's kind of like home, except you get to look at way more people that would otherwise not be as good looking. Novel, I know.

Did I mention the prizes yet?

Yeah. You better go. Plus, if going out and shakin' that ass helps the community, then you're just really being selfless and doing it for the greater good, right? The answer to that, my friends, is a resounding "yes." And if you don't know, you better ask somebody.

As far as the whole dating scene goes, I'm not saying the only way you can have an active social life is going to the bars, because we all know that's probably not at the top of the list of best places to find a mate. No offense, sleezies. Kidding!

But, come on. Are you really looking to find "the one" right now, or more interested in having a good time? Why not incorporate a little bit of both? Get out there. Don't expect anything, but be open to everything. OK, maybe not everything. As I'm sure you've heard a thousand times before, there's someone for everyone. Believe me, I've witnessed a few things on South Franklin lately. I know! *Dry heave.*

So, what's up ladies? Have we all decided yet whether we're going to "dress to impress" or just keep it "caj?" Quick tip, if you're going to be in the eating contest, let's not dress it up like it's fleet week. YAY. Not that I'm complaining about too much cleavage. Hey, getting a Pel' Meni stuck down there would be a great crowd pleaser. And maybe afterwards, we can all bet on which drunk guy will try to help pluck out that meaty goodness first.
