Caught in the Web

Dilbert Blog

If you enjoy the antics in the "Dilbert" comic strip, you'll be equally amused by the humor in the Dilbert Blog (www.dilbertblog.typepad.com). Written by Dilbert's creator, Scott Adams, the blog is basically a dumping ground for his thoughts on life. He doesn't address one particular topic; rather he posts his thoughts on current events or interesting things that catch his eye.

In a recent post about Paris Hilton and her release from jail, Adams admitted Hilton entertained him, setting off his readers and causing the single post to garner 141 comments. He wrote, "Tonight, Paris will appear on 'Larry King,' presumably not acting dumb. If you think you can keep me from watching that train wreck, you are mistaken. I'm clearing the calendar. I can't wait to watch Larry - who is more than 300 years old - ask Paris if she got any girl-on-girl action in the joint. They have the whole hour together and he's going to run out of innocent questions soon after 'Did you enjoy jail?'"

Adams operates his blog as a dialogue, encouraging back-and-forth comments with his readers. He will post questions that he's turning over in his mind, looking for thoughts and feedback from his audience.

The blog takes on a creative tone and is a well-written, entertaining read. But would we expect anything else from the man who brought us Dilbert?
