The band plays a mix of roots, blues, psychedelia, folk and rock. It includes G.E. Smith, bass, guitars, vocals; Barry Sless, bass, guitar, pedal steel and vocals; Pete Sears, bass, keyboards, accordion and vocals; Ann McNamee, bass, percussion and vocals; Roger McNamee, bass, guitar and vocals; Jimmy Sanchez, bass and drums; and Jack Casady, bass.

The band also plays Aug. 10-11, at Alice's Champagne Palace in Homer; Aug. 12, at Maxine's Glacier City Bistro in Girdwood; Aug. 16-17, at The Red Onion in Skagway; and Aug. 18 at the Tribal House in Haines.

Northern Lights prepares for 'Bye Bye Birdie' auditions

JUNEAU - Northern Lights Junior Theatre will hold auditions and orientation meetings Aug. 23 through 25 for its upcoming presentation of the musical "Bye Bye Birdie."

The performances will be held Nov. 16 and 17 at the Juneau-Douglas High School auditorium.

Director J. Althea is looking for cast members from fourth-graders to adults.
