Caught in the Web

Speed up downloads

Windows only: Freeware application Autobahn accelerates downloads from the iTunes Store.

Autobahn sits in the system tray and "optimizes" your downstream bandwidth for iTunes Store downloads. Though the site FAQ doesn't offer any more information about how exactly it does that, Autobahn only runs when it recognizes downloads piping from iTunes. Autobahn is a free download for Windows only.

Prince Edward Island

www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide

This is Canada's smallest and greenest province. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the island is known for the vivid colors of its gently rolling landscape. The Web site includes maps, photos, island facts, details about accommodations and activities, and travel itineraries.

Click here: In the "Things to Do" menu, under "Anne Itinerary" find out about the pastoral farmlands that L.M. Montgomery made famous in her books. Next year will be the 100th anniversary of the publication of "Anne of Green Gables."
