Thanks for support in creating memorial bench for Danny Hines

We are proud to announce the completion and installation of a commemorative bench dedicated to the memory of Daniel “Danny” Hines at 4 p.m. on July 21 at Don D. Statter Memorial Boat Harbor overlooking Auke Bay.

Zander Kotlarov, a member of the Boy Scout Troop 247, created this bench from concept to installation as his Eagle Scout Project.

Daniel was known to frequent Auke Bay, and it felt only fitting to remember him by putting the bench somewhere he would have loved.

Thanks to Lisa Worden, Leslie Hines Cummings, the Parise Family, Tricia Schreck, Michael Pollen, Colleen O’Sullivan, Gretchen O’Sullivan, Paul and Suzi Perry, Tyron Walker, Ann Salazar, Brian Salazar, Karen Yetka-Knutson, Suzanne McGee, Mimi and Al Kotlarov, Tanya Greenway, Greg Sharp, Jeri Rosenthal, Bill Bolling and all the anonymous donors for supporting this project. Without your efforts this would not have been possible.

Special thanks to the CBJ Harbor Board, Matthew Streuss, Loren Rasmussen, Martin Suzuki, Alaska Marine Lines, Carl Uchytil, Dave Borg, Troop 247, Bob Mitchell and Alexander Kotlarov for helping make this whole project possible. Your efforts in supporting Zander through the complicated process are greatly appreciated and much owed to the success of this project.

Zander Kotlarov ,
